"Every Teen Deserves to Know They Matter."
About Us
Nehi Cares is a youth-centered organization dedicated to mental wellness, identity development, and emotional resilience for today’s teens.
Founded by Juanita Banks-Whittington, a dynamic leader, storyteller, and advocate, Nehi Cares is dedicated to mental health and emotional empowerment. As an Army Veteran, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and award-winning children’s book author, Juanita brings a unique and compassionate lens to her work.
Named in honor of her grandmother, Nehi Cares reflects a legacy of compassion and resilience. Through trauma-informed speaking engagements, the ready-to-use I Matter! WAI?™ Curriculum and "I Matter" Teen Journals, Juanita’s approach equips teens with the tools to build resilience, strengthen self-awareness, and embrace their full identity—both inside and out.
